Creating with Imagination by Jane McNally

I wish to share with you my latest creations and how easy it is to use your imagination and make your own Faux Succulents that look so real. But no need to water.
Succulents/Cacti are becoming popular as inside gardens or outside. (lol I was given one for Christmas and unfortunately, I have a black thumb).
Inspired by the plastic ones you buy in Kmart and Spotlight, I played with many materials such as cardstock Kaisercraft Olive Green, Lime & fern. (any cardstock or thick Design paper can create beautiful Flowers. Crepe Paper, Design Paper 49 Market  from Art & Soul.

You will need

 white ink Pad 
Archival Ink pad
Sponge Dauber x 3
3D Dot Tape
Paper Towel
(Don’t use glue as it becomes very messy).
Pinking Shears
Mix Media Paper
Dylusional Ink Spray.

Green Tone Cardstock or Heavy Design Collection paper to make realistic Cactus/ Succulents
 Or make your own paper colour Green tones

Beautiful Succulents you can create using Sizzix framlit die or Sizzix Oh So Succulent. (Retired Die).
Or the below template if you have a Cameo or Cricut Air 2.

You will need multi - Cuts to create. 
using a scoring tool to turn the petals in to give the real dimension.

Awesome Dylusional Ink Spray with mix media paper water and papertowel creates beautiful paper with texture and tones of greens Fresh Lime Cut Grass Chopped Pesto. Spray mist onto a wet sprayed Rangers Mx Media paper mixing the greens then with a roll paper towel Roll over the top to give different texture look and effect. I was taught this Technique from Dylan,   Dylusional Paints & Sprays.

Stem Cacti 




 Using 3 strips of cardstock 5 x 3 inch  score in middle of each, 1 side add scoring tape 2 side then cut with pinking shears or fancy sissors ink with Archival Ink, Stazon Cactus Ink Pad.

                                Sizzix also have other succulent dies, but first check your flower dies for shape. 

To create a Barrel Cacti cut 10 large circles, I have used a Punch Circle.  fold in middle of each
Start gluing on one side to create a book fold.
once dry cut with pinking shears to create a Barrel cactus. I have inked my edges and then used white ink to highlight the spikes or use your Succulent die and create as per picture below.
