March Challenge - Love for Flowers by Suzanne Franin

Hey Everyone Suzanne here

This week on the Art and Soul Blog it's my turn for this months challenge for Soul Sisters Facebook Group and it is to use feathers or leaves
Also check out the Art and Soul Studio Store for lots of yummy products - new stock arriving all the time

This mood board is so vibrant loving the glass bottles
Don't forget to enter and put it in the March Album with photo on it

I have an unhealthy love for flowers hahaha which lucky for me this months challenge called for leaves and I have plenty of those as well

I had made a tag awhile ago using a Tim Holtz stencil with modelling paste

I added a row of heart stickers I think they were from a Kaisercraft sticker sheet and some Art Stones
I then painted it with Impasto - Jade and Raspberry Pink and added a bit of water to it then stamped a Kaisercraft dotted stamp with some Black Archival Ink

The frame I was given by someone that they had gotten from the op shop, it was navy blue to start with
On the back of the frame I used the doily stencil then painted it with the Jade Impasto

So I used the Raspberry Pink Impasto which is so thick I only needed one coat
I then gave it a light wipe with some white gesso

I got out my flowers and added them after glueing the tag to the frame

I painted the leaves in the Jade because the green of the leaves just didn't go

I gave the chipboard word a flick with some watered down impasto because it was just too white

Products I used-

 Tim Holtz stencil
Finnabair Art Alchemy Impasto Paint
RaspberryPink, Jade and Snow White
Art Stones (out of stock)
Mini Art Stones (out of stock)
Kaisercraft White Flowers
Little Birdie Leaves from a flower set

Memory Maze Doily Stencil (mine)

Step 2: Applied black gesso to the whole tag, to prepare it for coloring.

Step 4: Used Finnabair's waxes to add highlights and accents to the tag
Step 5: Adhered die cut leaves, a Little Birdie flower, sisal and a sentiment chipboard onto the tag using 3D Matte Gel
Step 6: Mixed mini beads, glitter & art stones with 3D Matte Gel & applied this paste to some areas of the tag

Daydream By Suzanne Franin

Hey Everyone Suzanne here

Here's my latest page I created for Art and Soul Studio Blog
Make sure you visit the Art and Soul Studio to see what's new

I just LOVE owls (if you were to scroll through my blog you would be able to tell LOL)
The papers I used are so pretty and were so perfect for this picture I had to create something with them

I started by tearing the papers and then rolling the edge a little
I then flicked the Colour Blast Carribean Colour Spray over all of the papers

I also used the Carribean blue for the flowers and the paper clay

I used a couple of metal piece but first I painted them in the Jade Impasto for another pop of colour

I had a packet of Prima tulle's that have been sitting looking pretty so I decided to use the pink one finally under the photo

I didn't do a lot to this layout as the paper and the photo didn't need it they are enough on their own
With the photo I had printed it twice in two different sizes so I cut them out in the shape they drawn in
I don't know who drew Him but whoever did thank you because I love Him x

Art and Soul Studio Products I used
Jade Impasto (out of stock)
Snow White Impasto (out of stock)
Lemon Craft Daydream 02 (out of stock)
Cocoa Vanilla Flowers from my stash
Paper Clay from Mum
Metal from own stash
Pink mesh from Prima but I've had it for awhile

Thank you for visiting and I hope you come back soon x

Bling Challenge by Suzanne Franin

Hey Everyone Suzanne here

This months challenge for Art and Soul Studio is all about Bling and who doesn't like bling
I love the whole mood board this month it's so feminine, soft and pretty
If you enter the challenge on our Facebook page Soul Sisters you have the chance to win one of three $50 vouchers to spend at the store

The photo is of my chandelier in my bedroom I told hubby when we finally did our room no matter what we are having a chandelier in our room
It's not a huge grand one it's perfect for the size of our bedroom
I played underneath to take it as it's over our bed

I started off with a timber frame and gessoed it so when I painted it the paint would go on smooth

This is the back of the frame which I painted with gesso as well so I could use the mix of Heavy Body Gel and a fine glitter

I used the mix through the Bohemian Bouquet Stencil

I then used Colour Blast Snow White Embossing Powder randomly on the frame for a bit more bling and sparkle

I had some tulle that has bling in it so of course I had to use that

I added the stem of flowers and then added some of the other flowers in amongst it all
Then added some plastic bling randomly through out the mix
I had the large blog flower which I love - it fit perfect on this project

As you can see I used a lot of the Rose Gold painting all the metal and paper clay

Products from Art and Soul Studio
Prima Say it with Crystals from my stash
Prima Flower stem from my stash
Paper clay from Mum
Metal and some bling from my stash
Colour Blast Embossing Powder Snow White

Thank you for visiting and I hope you come back soon x

Set of Nature Inspired Cards by Dutt Preety

Hi friends :)
Good Morning !

Today, I'd like to share a Set of Nature Inspired Cards
These are fairly simple to make & great for giving to friends & relatives during happy occasions like birthdays and anniversaries.
For these cards, I've distressed the edges of the papers and added flowers, pollens & sisal for texture. I hope you'll join the January Challenge where the theme is to "Use Texture". We have awesome prizes on offer. All the details about the challenge can be found HERE & you can add your textured creations on facebook, HERE

 Set of Nature Inspired Cards

Card 1: Beautiful Day

Card 2: Make A Wish

Process:

I've used some pretty decoupage papers from my stash (by Bob n Betty), you can use which ever scrapbooking papers you like best, Art & Soul Studio has a huge collection of pretty papers (I will link some below in the products list), cut them to 4.25 inches by 6.25 inches in size and distress their edges using a paper distressor tool, this creates a subtle textured look. Then applied clear gesso on this paper. After that, I created 2 mats for the panel, each 0.25 inches bigger than the last one, distressed their edges as well. The card is 5 by 7 inches in size, I scored it using a Bone Folder. Then adhered the panel to the first mat using foam tape & all the other layers too using liquid glue. For the floral clusters, I used flowers, pollen & sisal adhered down with gel medium & in the end, I added sentiment stickers.

Products Used from Art & Soul Studio:

Pretty nature inspired scrapbooking papers- Here, Here & Here
Tim Holtz Metallic Stickers
Tim Holtz paper distresser
Foam Tape

Texture Challenge by Suzanne Franin

Hey Everyone Suzanne here

This week is my turn to share my interpretation of the challenge over at Soul Sisters Facebook Page where each month we give away 3 vouchers of $50 - one for each category - layout, card or mixed media project so make sure you enter on our Soul Sisters Facebook page
Also don't for get to check out the rest of the blog for some great inspiration from the rest of the Design Team

I used the Art-C Clipboard I seem to have a thing for clipboards at the moment I used the Heavy Body Gel through the Couture Creations Rosy Stencil
Once that dried I then painted the clipboard with the Art Alchemy Sparks - Unicorn Hair and Dragon's Eye
Then when they were dry I tried to use the Heavy Body Gel to even out the board so if you are to put paper on there it won't be lumpy to write on - it's still a little bumpy but I'm sure I can add a piece of cardboard on top if I use it

Ephemera Cardstock Dies has so many different pieces in them so I used a few here and there - a few feathers, a flower and a couple of tickets

I used one of the Journalling Notecards which I ended up cutting down a bit in the left corner and another for the feathers which is the little square
The Chipboard Stickers gives it a little dimension and I just love this little gold bee

I used some Art Ingredients Glass Beads in different parts on the Clipboard for some more texture

Products I used from the Art and Soul Store

Heavy Body Gel (check in store)
Art-C Clipboard
Couture Creations Rosy Stencil
Prima Midnight Garden -
Journalling Notecards
Ephemera Cardstock Dies
Chipboard Stickers
Art Alchemy Sparks - Unicorn Hair and Dragon's Eye
Art Ingredients Glass Beads
And some random Prima flowers I've had forever

Thank you for visiting I hope you come back soon x
