Set of Nature Inspired Cards by Dutt Preety

Hi friends :)
Good Morning !

Today, I'd like to share a Set of Nature Inspired Cards
These are fairly simple to make & great for giving to friends & relatives during happy occasions like birthdays and anniversaries.
For these cards, I've distressed the edges of the papers and added flowers, pollens & sisal for texture. I hope you'll join the January Challenge where the theme is to "Use Texture". We have awesome prizes on offer. All the details about the challenge can be found HERE & you can add your textured creations on facebook, HERE

 Set of Nature Inspired Cards

Card 1: Beautiful Day

Card 2: Make A Wish

Process:

I've used some pretty decoupage papers from my stash (by Bob n Betty), you can use which ever scrapbooking papers you like best, Art & Soul Studio has a huge collection of pretty papers (I will link some below in the products list), cut them to 4.25 inches by 6.25 inches in size and distress their edges using a paper distressor tool, this creates a subtle textured look. Then applied clear gesso on this paper. After that, I created 2 mats for the panel, each 0.25 inches bigger than the last one, distressed their edges as well. The card is 5 by 7 inches in size, I scored it using a Bone Folder. Then adhered the panel to the first mat using foam tape & all the other layers too using liquid glue. For the floral clusters, I used flowers, pollen & sisal adhered down with gel medium & in the end, I added sentiment stickers.

Challenge Inspiration - It's a Card - by Tanyalee Kahler

Hello everyone and welcome to the blog! It's Tanyalee here with a challenge inspiration post for you. This month I have made a card! This isn't something I make very often, but it was great fun to make.

To start off, I taped down my card because I wanted a crisp, clean edge on the front. I used plain masking tape and left a 5mm border.

Next, I mixed a few Impasto paints to get the right colours to match the mood board. I love theJade and Azure paints, they are my favourite colours right now.

I let the paint dry thoroughly and then started working on some abstract florals.

Lastly, I got out some Black Liquitex Acrylic Ink and hand-lettered 'Happy Birthday'. And finished it off with some ink splatters.

This was a super quick, and cute little project that you could do yourselves in about 10 minutes (minus drying time of course).

I hope you consider participating in the challenge this month. All of the details are below.

Supplies:

White cardstock
Impasto Paints (Azure, Jade, Raspberry, White)

Music is Silence Coloured in by Karen Arribas

Hello and welcome to my next lesson. It will be based on this months Scrapbooking/ Card Challenge.

I decided to do a card challenge using the above colours and stencils by Dina Wakley and 7gypsies.

I tried to get the correct green/grey colour by using a mixture of different colours. I used Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic paint - Black, KAISERcolour Acrylic paint - Pistachio and Decoart Media fluid acrylic - Phthalo Turquoise. I'm thinking I needed to add a bit more green to the mix. I covered the entire card in the colour.

I used the 7gypsies stencil 'Triangle Grid' and sporadically covered it with Dina Wakley heavy body acrylic paint - Chedder (mixed with white)

I then used small bits of music paper and placed it in a few areas on the card and then used Decoart media - Titan Buff and covered a thin layer of paint over the stenciling so you could see some of the areas coming through.

I then went over it again using the darker colour and used the 7gypsies stencil and Dina Wakley Media Stencil- Scales.

I then used 7 Dots Studio 'Dreamscapes' collage paper as the background for the heart and butterfly wings. The stamp is from the Finnabair cling stamp collection 'Trust the magic' and the butterfly wings are from a napkin I had.

Materials used:
Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic paint - Black,
KAISERcolour Acrylic paint - Pistachio
Decoart Media fluid acrylic - Phthalo Turquoise
Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic Paint - Chedder
Decoart Media Fluid Acrylic - Titan Buff
7gypsies stencil 'Triangle Grid'
Dina Wakley Media Stencil- Scales.
7 Dots Studio 'Dreamscapes' collage paper
Finnabair cling stamp collection 'Trust the magic'
