Steampunk Tags with Kristy Abela

Happy Sunday Funday!! Have a peek at this over your morning cuppa!
Today I get to follow on from my Industrial Steampunk styled Mood Board Challenge to play with the same theme on an set of tags I created.

After sticking down the Stamperia papers to the tags and adding some mesh (Gyprock tape) with 3D gel,  I used a stencil and sprayed a fairly heavy coat of Tim Holtz Resist spray. Once this dried I used Distress Oxide in Evergreen Bough and applied a heavy layer over the whole surface to pick up the exposed bits of paper that the resist spray didn't reach. With a dry cloth I polished off the excess.

I added the super funky Architextures and a layer of Nuvo Mousse through a stencil. I applied some Distress Crayon with my finger and rubbed it all over the raised surfaces to create shadows. Then inked the edges to finish off my background.

I used Embossing powder and waxes over black gesso on my chipboard and veneers. Tore a piece of calico and distressed it to frame my globes. I added in the door knobs and keyhole embellishments. Stamped some inspirational quotes and finished off with some Art Stones and Micro Beads from Prima.

Thanks for joining me at Art & Soul

The Pink Ladies - Journal Process - Leanne

Hello,
I am back again for another share.
I asked what you which process you would like to see after I offered a sneak peek of two completely different projects.
And PINK one won.
what is it with pink!...
this would be one of the very rare occasions that I actually use pink..
anyway. so you can see my whole process...
Only a short video this time..
 Close ups for details....

And the whole thing!!!...
Art journalling is such a unqiue tool for being able to get out of your head what is holding you back or even what is on your mind that you don't particularly want to share with others....
For me it is such a cathartic process..

Material list With links for those products available at Art and Soul Studio.
Stabilo all Pencil: Graphite, Black (sorry out of stock).
Liquid paper pen, dictionary book, calico, butterick dress pattern.(supplies from home).

so there you have it.
have I inspired something in YOU to create...

I would love to hear from you..

Music is Silence Coloured in by Karen Arribas

Hello and welcome to my next lesson. It will be based on this months Scrapbooking/ Card Challenge.

I decided to do a card challenge using the above colours and stencils by Dina Wakley and 7gypsies.

I tried to get the correct green/grey colour by using a mixture of different colours. I used Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic paint - Black, KAISERcolour Acrylic paint - Pistachio and Decoart Media fluid acrylic - Phthalo Turquoise. I'm thinking I needed to add a bit more green to the mix. I covered the entire card in the colour.

I used the 7gypsies stencil 'Triangle Grid' and sporadically covered it with Dina Wakley heavy body acrylic paint - Chedder (mixed with white)

I then used small bits of music paper and placed it in a few areas on the card and then used Decoart media - Titan Buff and covered a thin layer of paint over the stenciling so you could see some of the areas coming through.

I then went over it again using the darker colour and used the 7gypsies stencil and Dina Wakley Media Stencil- Scales.

I then used 7 Dots Studio 'Dreamscapes' collage paper as the background for the heart and butterfly wings. The stamp is from the Finnabair cling stamp collection 'Trust the magic' and the butterfly wings are from a napkin I had.
