Tell Your Story - Allara Bamforth

Hey Soul Sisters,

It's Allara back on the blog today and I'm revisiting one of my favourite stencils using it as a scrapbook background with my beloved Dylusions Paints that I love to use on pretty much everything.

The three paint colours I have used on the background are Dylusions- Funky Fuschia, Laidback Lilac and Pure Sunshine. An I have thus randomly spread these around start with the lilac over my background with metal spatula and not really waiting for them to dry in between.

Next I stamped over the dylusion paint background with a Carabelle Stamp 'Impression Aux Pochoirs' just to break up the colour a little. Then I was very brave and layed my Stencil Girl stencil over the top and used black gesso to sponge over the top. I also cut the page to 11and half and stuck on a black cardstock back ground to create a border.

Next I used 49&Market Gabi's Texture Stamp and Carabelle Flower circles background with Black Archival ink to add some stamped details. I also detailed the writing with a white Posca Pen and added a few small details of my own. I picked out a photo of my lovely daughter when she was young and started placing around various Vicki Boutin Diecuts and some chipboard/ wood veneers. If you are like me I have a massive collection of these and found it fun to use a few of them for this project.

I painted the chipboard and wood veneer in the Dylusions paints I used for the background. I used my finger to apply it as I wanted it to blend with half of each colour. The wand was painted in a DecoArt Venetian gold paint and then I added some Dylusions White Linen to high light as well as a little funky fuschia.
Before adhering the my photo and embellishments I splattered some of the white linen and pure sunshine over the background as well as stamping in Archival Monarch Orange some more texture stamps around the grid patterns.
As I laid it all down I felt it needed a little more softening, so I took some cheesecloth in my stash and soaked it in the Dylusions Spray - Pure Sunshine to match and bring the the page together.

I'm really happy with how it turned out! I love these colours together.

I hope you've enjoyed my process and I've provided you with some inspiration. This would be a great technique to also try in your journal as well.

All products used have been linked back to the Art and Soul Studio shop. Please have a look - Annette has a fabulous array of products to choose from. I'm awaiting some new products in my next order and can't wait to show you them in my next post.

Till next post,

Allara xx
